On February 17, 2023, at a meeting of the Dissertation Council of St. Petersburg State University, Popov A. A. defended his Ph.D.
The dissertation analyzes long-term data on the rotational temperature of hydroxyl based on observations of nightglow variations at a network of Russian stations. The Dissertation Council decided to award Popov A. A. the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences in the specialty 1.6.18. "Atmospheric and Climate Sciences".
